You Can Make A Difference
For many seniors and people with disabilities, the trusted Meals on Wheels volunteer who shows up every day with a hot meal and a warm smile is the only person they see or speak to all day. This special delivery is a reason to get up in the morning, something to look forward to.
Meals are delivered weekdays during lunchtime hours. Routes can take from one and a half to two hours. You can volunteer as often as you would like based on your schedule. Volunteering just once a month can make a significant difference to those in need.
Meals are picked up in Duluth and delivered to eight to ten homes per route in the Norcross, Peachtree Corners, Berkeley Lake, and Duluth areas of Gwinnett County.
Men and women, young and old, families, retirees, professionals – anyone who has a desire to join our wonderful team of volunteers is welcome.

What Our Volunteers Say:
“I have volunteered with NMOW for 18 years as a board member and delivering meals. Visiting folks in their homes has been rewarding, and seeing the dedication of the other volunteers has been amazing.” –Joyce Crum
“I decided to volunteer to drive for Meals on Wheels because my wife’s parents, and my parents, all lived in Chicago, more than 700 miles from metro Atlanta. That distance meant that people that we did not know had been helping our parents, because we were too far away to attend to day-to-day needs.
Meals on Wheels was much more than a meal for someone that was home alone all day — it was reassurance that someone would keep an eye out for any unusual situation. It feels good to be able to return some of the kindness that had been shown to our parents, over the years.” –Bob Manka
