About Us

Our History

Ginny Douglass, an active member of Norcross First United Methodist Church, founded Norcross Meals on Wheels in the spring of 1979. She was determined to attend to the pressing need in her community. Ginny’s vision has evolved into a long lasting and thriving ministry. Norcross Meals on Wheels has provided thousands of hot midday meals, five days a week, for over thirty-five years. Norcross Meals on Wheels began by delivering to the Norcross and Duluth areas, and has expanded to include Berkeley Lake and Peachtree Corners. We are now a 501C-3 nonprofit organization with a dedicated board of directors and program coordinator continuing Ginny’s work. The backbone of this organization remains our loving, giving volunteers and supporters.

Our Mission

Our mission is still the same today: To establish a community in which our home-bound, elderly, and disabled citizens can live their lives with independence and dignity. We provide nutritious, appetizing midday meals with a smile and an eye on the health and safety of those we serve.  We are proud to serve the Norcross, Peachtree Corners, Berkeley Lake, and Duluth areas of Gwinnett.
